The Book of You app was designed for people to make and view a digital life story book. This is a collection of photos, words and other things that reflect important aspects of a person’s’ life.

Life story books are a way to share happy memories with carers, friends and family. Making and viewing a book can have powerful benefits, such as improving mood and wellbeing, stimulating memories, and helping to maintain or increase a sense of identity.

The Book of You research study is using data and feedback from the Dementia Citizens pilot to explore how and why life story books are helpful for people with dementia and their carers. The research leads for this study are Laura O’Philbin and Professor Bob Woods from Bangor University’s Dementia Services Development Centre.

Although the Dementia Citizens Book of You app is no longer available you can find out more about Book of You, the community interest company, on the Book of You website.
